Ingredients
For the Blondies
- ¾ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup apple butter
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar, divided
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 medium apples, diced (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Gala)
For the Glaze
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
1. Brown the butter. In a saucepan, melt the butter and cook until golden brown and nutty. Stir in the apple butter and 1 cup brown sugar.

2. Mix wet + dry. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir just until combined.
3. Prep apples. Toss diced apples with the remaining brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

4. Assemble. Spread batter into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle apples evenly on top.

5. Bake. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes, or until golden and set. Cool completely before glazing.

6. Make glaze. Brown the butter again, then whisk in maple syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.

7. Finish. Drizzle glaze over cooled blondies. Let set, slice, and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Blondies
- Use apple butter, not applesauce. It’s thicker and adds richer flavor.
- Don’t skip browning the butter. That nutty depth makes all the difference.
- Choose firm apples. Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith hold their shape when baked.
- Cool completely before glazing. Otherwise, the glaze won’t set properly.
- Storage: Keep in an airtight container for 2–3 days at room temp, or up to 5 days in the fridge.
